eBay Item Specifics — Why They're So Important

Why item specifics are critical

When a buyer filters on eBay (Brand: Nike, Size: 10, Color: Black), only listings with those specifics filled in appear. Without specifics, you're invisible.

Required vs. optional

• Required specifics: Must be filled out (Brand, Condition, etc.)
• Optional specifics: Fill them out ANYWAY! Every additional specific improves your ranking

Most important specifics

• Brand
• Model/Product name
• Condition (New, Used, etc.)
• Color
• Size
• Material
• UPC/EAN (if available — significantly better ranking)

Tip

Spend 2 extra minutes per listing filling out ALL specifics. This helps more than a perfect description.
