Why packaging matters so much
20-30% of all returns are caused by shipping damage. Good packaging is the cheapest insurance you can have.
The golden rules
- Right size: Not too big (item slides), not too small (pressure on item)
- Padding: At least 3cm gap on every side
- Fragile items: Double padding, "Fragile" sticker
- Electronics: Anti-static bags, original packaging if possible
- Clothing: Waterproof poly mailer instead of box
Budget packaging materials
- Bubble wrap rolls: affordable in bulk
- Shipping boxes in 50-packs: much cheaper than individual
- Packing paper: lightweight and effective
